After Italy and Monaco, where he met our “neighbour” Prince Albert II of Monaco, President Xi Jinping began his trip to France with a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron. They were both accompanied by their wives. This first meeting took place in Beaulieu-sur-Mer in the villa Kérylos, an iconic monument in the charming seaside resort located less than 10 km from Nice and Monaco. For safety reasons all the roads around had been closed, which made it difficult for a group of Italian students to arrive to our language school, Beaulieu Riviera Language Center! read more

Visit France!

France attracts record number of holidaymakers. Visit France!

France tourist numbers should hit a record again in 2018: 90 million is the number of foreign tourists that France should have hosted in 2018 according to the latest projections. A record!

An attractiveness that does not benefit everybody

This success, however, is unequally distributed. Paris and its surroundings as well as the French Riviera have fully benefited from this craze. The Eiffel Tower, the Palace of Versailles or the Mediterranean light have attracted people from all over the world. Normandy and its landing beaches, the Loire Valley and its castles or Bordeaux and its vineyards have also attracted foreign tourists.

Number one in France: British tourists!

This year again, the British should be the most numerous to go to France for their holidays. However, during the summer, there were many Italians and Spanish who crossed the border to discover the richness of the historical, cultural and natural French heritage. But Europeans were not the only ones to choose France as a destination, and tourists from the United States (+ 15%) and Japan (+ 25%) also contributed to this record level of attractiveness.

French people also go abroad

On the other hand, other regions along the Atlantic coast and especially in more rural areas had a more mixed summer. Bookings of nights by the French are even down. These French areas are in fact traditionally visited mostly by the French during their holidays, but they went abroad this year, especially to Greece, Tunisia or Croatia.

A favorable context for French language schools

For French language schools for foreigners, these figures are good news and they should be confirmed by the results of centers mainly located in the most attractive areas, like on the French Riviera where there were more than 10 million of hotel night and apartment bookings during the first half of the year.
